Best 890fx AM3 board?

Thread Starter
As per my other posts, I'm seriously looking at going crossfire soon. Problem is I have a crappy non-CF board. So I'm curious which board people recommend. Not just looking for a name but if that's all you have, that's fine too. I am interested in the why. Price? Availability? Features? Personal experience? Any great answers that include those other parts will be given reps as usual. Thanks for the attention!

Hey man I would go with the UD5 from Gigabyte. Other than that the Crosshair IV forumla looks good too, as well as the gd70 from MSI.

If you want to go all out and get an overkill awesome board, the crosshair IV Extreme is your board. But, if you don't need all the awesomeness but still want a great performing board, the asus M4A89TD PRO/USB3 board is the way to go. I have the little brother of that board, the M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 and it has been an excellent board and overclocks very well.

My vote wouldbe for the Crosshair IV Formula. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles like the Extreme, but it is a solid board that OC's quite well, not to mention that all the niffty bells and whistles it does have!

I do like the gigabyte option. Any personal experience with it by chance?

No but I did have a 790fx UD5 when I had a Phenom II 720 and never had any problems with it. Worked great. I will probably purchase on Gigabyte from now on though. I like my MSI board but it has a few quirks sometimes.

Cool thanks for the reply. I am leaning towards the UD5 or the biostar ta890fxe. Speaking of the biostar.... it's by far the cheapeast 890fx board I could find. You lose USB 3.0 but I don't have any 3.0 items anyways and I can't CF with the board I have now. I'm on a budget which is why I'm looking at the biostar. Can anyone speak about the features/reliability of this model??
