In another setback for Nokia Corp., the Finnish mobile-phone giant has canceled the U.S. release of a smartphone that was slated to launch exclusively this year with AT&T Inc., people familiar with the situation said.

Nokia had intended to debut the touchscreen phone, dubbed the X7, in conjunction with AT&T ahead of the Mobile World Congress trade show next month in Barcelona, Spain, these people said.

“In the U.S. market, the Nokia platform is at the back of the line behind all these other guys,” says Roger Kay, president of tech consultancy Endpoint Technologies Associates Inc. “This is a very fast moving market. You don’t want to be sitting around.”
Well, well, how the mighty have fallen.
I would have sympathy for them but after the amount of trash they spoke about Android and general ignorance they continue to exhibit, they shall get no such thing.

Serves you right Nokia.

Not like US liked nokia to begin with so meh could care less if the phone is canceled. It might be popular outside the US, but the US has to be special and diff so we go meh at them (and for good reason)

Thats a shame. I have to say though I hope they bounce back. They are a good provider of Mobile phones and have been in the game a long time.

Have you seen what they've been up to lately?

Not exactly the behavior of a champion...

Their recent phones seem pretty good from the specs, but Nokia just doesnt seem that great in the US anymore. If they really tried I could see them being really good competition against android phones, blackberry phones and the iphone.

The U.S. may not care much about Nokia but Nokia is actually considered one of the best(if not the absolute best!!!) in Asia and some other parts of the world.

I myself have not bought any phone other than a Nokia.

I really don't have a problem with their phones, it's their business practices that I find deplorable.

That whole TCI spying debacle was insane, not to mention the Android blasphemy they were spouting.

Then there was the whole Nokia Boycott in Iran

They produce some of the greatest phones, yet still cling on to that shocking os!

Untill they actually admit that symbian is a dead duck, I fear that they wont be with us long which is a shame.

I'd rather use Touchwiz than that poor excuse for an OS

Nokia's latest "flagship" sells for more than the iPhone 4, and is slower than the 3GS...
