Why is it that some games on my ps3 look clear on my 25.5 inch Samsung SyncMaster T26

On my smaller Samsung when I play some games on it the graphics are great mostly sports games like Madden, Fight Night, UFC demo, but when I play other games like shooters or other 3 person games the graphics are fizzy on my Samsung SyncMaster T260HD. Now I have a 46 inch Samsung tv but when I play on that none of the games are blurry at all. So I just wonder why a smaller screen monitor would make some games look ugly.

When I play infamous ps3 game on my 25.5 inch monitor it looks freaking ugly and I have it set up on movie mode to try to take as many fizzies out of it as possible. But when I play it on my Samsung 46 inch monitor it isn't fizzy. What gives? But monitors are suppose to be 1080p, but even if one wasn't it wouldn't explain why sports games look like high-def on my ps3 on the smaller samsung monitor but other games look like crap and fizzy. I used to own God Of War 3 for the ps3 and I believe I played the ps3 game on my smaller monitor but I don't remember that game having fizzies. So it pisses me off some games look like crap on my smaller monitor, is it the developers fault or is something up?

Maybe it's the resolution the game is being output from your PS3 and your monitor's ratio? That happens to me a lot on my Samsung monitor. Different games have different sharpness.

I'm also going with what sikka said. Some ps3 games output at 720p like EA NHL10 for example, that probably scales better to the native res of your monitor which is probably like 1920x1200(?)...where as 1080p scales a little different since it's already 1920x1080.

For a test you can go into the ps3 video settings and uncheck the 1080p output, and then check if it looks better coming out 720p for those 1080p games.
