Yet Another Physics question

Thread Starter
as the name of my sig rig states, i dont actually have my main pc yet, so i cant actaully test any of this stuff out for a while, but

im going to use the 220 for physics, and i want to know, if it is worth it to put the 220 in the second PCIe x 16 slot, (bringing the 220 to x8, instead of x4, but also bringing the 460 to x8 instead of x16)

i loved Batman AA, so thats the main game ill be using this for,
also, what are other (good) games that utilize physics

since i havent put this rig together yet,
i want to try out different set ups with the hardware to find the best peformance for the rig (before OCing everything)

i will bring the Palit 460 back to stock for all of this,
and then once iv got everything properly set up,
ill put a mild OC on the CPU/Ram/GPU(s)

See the link in my sig for more information on physx.
Current high-end graphics cards can't even max out x8 slots so that isn't an issue.

but will i see a performance increase (higher FPS) with both cards at x8
like, will it ACTUALLY make a noticable different?
or should i just put the 220 in the x4 slot?
im not too worried about diminishing the 460's performance, as the OC on that thing is already high enough

As it says in my linked FAQ, a 220 for physics with a 460 may not even be worth it. That said I'm not sure why you would place the 220 in the 4x slot when you have an 8x available and it will make no difference to place it there. I guess to answer your question there may be a bottleneck with 4x PCIe although for just a 220 I doubt it.

Try the GTX460 @ 16X with the GT220 @ 4X.

then try GTX460 @ 8X with GT220 @ 8X.

and see which gets better Fps
you never know, running a GTX460 without the GT220 might also give you better fps.
