Thread Starter
Okay so I currently using a AMD Athon II X2 and Im looking for a decent upgrade.. my motherboard is a GIGABYTE 870A-UD3 and apparently it supports up to AMD X6 I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I would like to purchase a CPU with good over clocking potential to get the most performance for my money.

the 1055 is a great choice for a budget hex core. i haven't personally oc'd one of these but i have oc'd a 1090 to 4.0 w/out breaking a sweat, and i've heard good things from the 1055 community. your board is also fairly decent. you can get more out of the ud5 or 7 but i'd hold off going that route until BD gets here.

tl;dr
good choice, you won't be disappointed

If gaming:
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103727
Cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835233082

If using for work/video:
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103851
Cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835181012

I actually recommend the Xigmatec cooler for both options, but included the Corsair to get you within budget. There are better coolers than the Gaia, but they will cost you more than double.
It's so little!
