Chicks love Macs. Unless they have any knowledge of computers, they will always pick the Mac. At least that has been the way with the women I have met.

With a HDD maybe so, but with an SSD in the windows machine...

Typing this from a current 2010 13" Macbook pro I'd say any Windows machine is a WAY better deal if money is an issue. There is no arguing you get way more performance for the buck. Build quality though, I don't think you'll find a nicer machine than the Macbook pro. It's made from a solid piece of aluminum. There is zero flex no matter how you pick it up or wave it around. Core 2 CPU definitely shows it's age if you push it. I only use the MBP to browse the web. If I need to do something performance hungry I move to my gaming rig. I would never have picked it up if it was my only computer.

i think you are underestimating the machine as i use my macbook as my main machine and the only issues i run into are with my video card being a piece of trash basically. though the macbook line is due for a refresh in april i believe?

If price is her only concern then yeah a Windows machine, I personally would get the top of the range MBP if i had the spare cash, they really are amazing machines....

The correct way to handle this is to offer to build her a Hackintosh. (Just kidding!)

I think that I would pick neither option. I like money, and I'd buy a cheaper laptop. I hate laptops though, so I'd never even touch a game on one.
