i7 980x quad SLI, need help desigining the set-up. - Page 3

Well if you did have two pumps and two radiators you might as well have two separate loops lol. Have one loop for the gpus and 1 for the CPU and motherboard. If you decide to go that route make sure you get another reservoir unless your planning on using t-lines for the fill ports. If I were you I would just get a mpc 655 and call it a day.

The rad you choose all depends on the speed of fan you plan to use. General rule: sr-1 series < 850rpm rx series 900-1450 rpm gtx series 1500+ You will need at least an area of 6x 120 rad to cool that setup with a high fpi rad such as the gtx series.

As for the pump top the xspc acrylic or acetal pumptops are regarded by OCN as rather awesome.

You want the res physically above the pump so it can be gravity fed.

You want to use a single loop setup for everyday use and a dual loop only if you are benching. the single loop benefits your gpus which you will be using more of while gaming than your cpu. It allows rad that would be dedicated to the cpu in a dual loop setup to help cool the gpus. On the other hand while doing cpu heavy things the rads that would normally be dedicated to the gpus would be able to help cool the cpu. 1 loop 2 pumps in serial

if you have an specific questions feel free to pm me

Ok, I think I will desregard the HAF X + MO-RA3 option and go for a LD PC-V8 with radiators, that case is pretty amazing. Would the 2x480mm RAD in the bottom of the case and one 480mm RAD at the top and a MPC 655 with + a reservoir in a single loop would be silentish and would do for some overclocking ? do I need some more Rad ? any pointers on the location of the rads, pump and reservoir ?

Cheeers!

Ok, checking pumps and reservoirs, how about a XSPC X2O 750 Dual 5.25 Bay Reservoir Pump, already comes with a reservoir which is handy..or a a MPC 655 plus reservoir would be better ? so many options...

i would defo say run 2 loops. list:

XSPC Dual DDC Dual BAY* Reservoir - Multi Fascia
2x Swiftech MCP355
3x 480mm RADs

also, can you run all that hardware from a 1500W psu.
