The K62 was definitely a contender, but unfortunately the $20 shipping cost (for ground, vs. $0 for 2 day) felt like a real killer to me dollar for dollar.

I was seriously torn by the 922 as well, such a big open spaced beast, the only problem was the top clearance of the 200x30 mm fan was a hair too thin for my liking with my mildly ridiculous A70 cooler. I know you can probably find a thinner profile fan, but again I prefer to be able to have everything go out of box, and slowly tweak from there over time.

Sadly I am in the US, as I hear great things about the Fractal Design cases, but alas, they are not for my yankee self.

My last serious thought, which I know everyone on Overclock.net hates, was the Azza Hurrican, a Full Tower ATX case that comes equipped with 8 monstrous fans, in a design style most call "ugly as f***" but I kind of liked. However I truly despise MIRs, and some complained of its noise levels, and the fact that you can't turn off any of the fan LEDs killed it for me (I sleep with the damn thing facing my bed).

So... in the end when another CM II 690 came on amazon for sale, I jumped on it. Hot swap SATA port, Spacious, Toolless, tons of (quiet) fans, a weird ass little mounting bracket for my GPU that I can put my old 80mms on (buried deep inside now of course), etc. How could I resist? And on it's way to me for $70 Shipped! I can't wait to get it and start tossing stuff inside of it.

EDIT: Make that $73 Shipped, and it arrives tomorrow, yipee!

Thanks a lot to everyone for their great suggestions, and it was a lot of fun looking at all the different options, and I definitely have some future thoughts for when I'm less poor and thinking of another rig.
I repped everyone who had a helpful suggestion
Can you be so very kind as to please post a link to where any of us can get this deal? I just can't find it at that price, so maybe you found it in a different search than I did.

Thanks so very much.

My apologies, it wasn't so much a "deal" as me showing off a little. The reason I started this thread with the explicit requirement of having to buy from Amazon, was that I had picked up a $20 Amazon Gift Card (and have a Prime account, also I live in CA which means newegg doubles my pain with tax as well as shipping). Didn't mean to raise any hopes falsely

I took advantage of that $20.00 Amazon gift card offer as well.

Newegg does charge me sales tax as well in NJ and I believe TN as the only other state other than CA in which they charge sales tax.

BTW the "most important thing" I forgot to say - "Yeah-yeah you showoff".

Very good decision! You will be very happy with the case.

Only advice I can give on installing your motherboard is to go ahead and install your CPU cooler back plate before you install the motherboard. Some model boards do not line up with the rear access window.
