Asus 5970 G/2DIS/2GD5/A (Asus Service is a JOKE!) - Page 2

These things happen, stories just like yours.
I've had nothing but problems with EVGA, but you have a billion people that didn't.

Did you try the 5970 in the 5850 box?

I had some video issues with an 5870(non-Asus) when it's connected to my monitor by DVI cable, but as soon as I switch to HDMI the problem is gone. This is probably not the case with you but unless you tell them exactly what happened(output connector used, resolution, drivers, etc) it may be hard to reproduce the problem.

Hope everything works well.

sucks for you, i just got my asus K52JR back from rma for me letting a child rip the D key off. it was replaced and they even replaced the cd drive that only opened 60% of the time that i forgot to mention in the rma form.

wish someone would act like they cared. going on 3 months now. Managers won't return my call or emails. If you know of anyone at Asus whom seems to care, point them to me. I have yet to find one that even follows through on a routine basis. I have heard a lot of excuses tho, need to start writing them down.

I am using a 5850 right now in the same box where the 5970 use to be. Same drivers, nothing changed except for the Asus video card is in the shop for the third time and the Saphire 5850 is as steady as a rock.

I told level 1 and 3 tech support at Asus exactly how to repeat the issue. It's actually simple, put a video game in and in under 1 hour (usually around 20 minutes) the video is gone. Even in desktop, the video will vanish but it will take longer.

I have never overclocked or did anything to this card. Totally stock. I am going to sell it once it comes back from repair and is running correctly. First and last Asus for me. I don't think I will purchase any product again from them.

Oh... do a quick google search "asus customer service problems" and see what you get.... Wish I would have done that before laying down serious cash for their video card and motherboard....

Maybe they will change the hold music to something that is not Christmas music... What a bunch of dorks!

Which rma facility did you send the card to?

Is it Indiana or Kentucky?
