How to get another USB port for my laptop? - Page 2

If you get an ExpressCard USB expansion, use that for your printer, have the sound card and mouse on the physical ports. Most expresscard ones have two, so you can plug a memory stick in too if you wanted.

Could I connect my laptop cooler through it too? Would it be powered just as much as a normal usb port?

[QUOTE=bigal1542;12082166]What converter do you have? How does performance work through it?
The eSATA port is also a USB port, no adapter required. I would also look at getting an AC/USB charger that will power your cooler. Its the same charger that comes with many newer cell phones. Something like this. You can get them cheap at Walmart.

EDIT: Look at your eSATA port, it looks just like the USB port, well similar. Just try to plug a USB cable to it. If it works, you have an eSATA/USB combo port. Most laptops do.

Not sure what you mean by "converter"

It' s one "port" in my laptop, and it works if I put in eSata OR usb, they BOTH work, both fit
heres a crappy cell pic, don't have a camera
Attachment 191331

edit: aaaand looks like I'm 3 hours late to the party
