The case Antec SHOULD be making - Page 2

I was expecting some pic.'s

I have two Antec 300's, I found they had decent wire management, better then most not as good as some (high end mostly)

Since both of the 300's house low budget gaming rigs for my grandsons they have severed me well and at a very good price point, paid 50 each vs. the 200 I paid for my 700D

I could careless about tool-less design, I have $10,000 worth of hand tools and I know how to use them

We haven't been around for twenty five years without knowing and caring about what our customers want. We've seen this specific thread pop up in our google alerts and it's actually being passed around and discussed internally. We know who Phaedrus is and we appreciate and value his feedback. But it doesn't end with him.

I can tell you that I've seen at least two or three dozen emails since I arrived here late last year from both Scott Richards (VP of sales and marketing) and Andrew Lee (President and founder) where they've received a customer's feedback and want the opinion of product development, marketing as well as some of the enthusiasts on staff. These ideas come in all the time and no matter how cryptic, off the wall or crazy some of them may be (and there have been some doozies) we read them all.

We've also created products as a direct result from feedback we've received from the community. We just launched the KUHLER H2O 620 CPU cooler specifically because we received such STRONG feedback from our customers in surveys. Nearly 50% of our customers who responded to our surveys said they'd like us to make a water cooling system. You can read more about this on our blog.

The Dark Fleet chassis was also created from the feedback we received from you. Features that customers asked for specifically were put into this. You can find the details on that here

http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/df/feature.html

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that we are listening. We are reading the forums and we're working diligently to continue to create products that you want.

Keep it coming.

Jessie
Hi Jessie,

Antec has to make computer cases that have great cable management which is sorely lacking with Antec cases, a huge CPU retaining hole for easy maintenance, hard drive mounting in which also have at least part of the cage that can be either taken out or turned around and filtered holes on case floor where the power supply sits so that the power supply can get fresh air. As one who is in the market for 1 -2 computer cases, I looked at your case offerings and those features are missing on many to most of your models as well as they have limited video card size limitations.

Look at this forum and read where most of the posts are from: Cooler Master and Lian li/Lancool on the most part with some Corsair too and why?, because they have features many/most of your cases don't without breaking the bank cost wise in most scenarios.

Just look at your competition, don't tell me that Antec doesn't purchase some of these cases to see what they're doing.

I would say the biggest problem with cable managment in an Antec, is me

You forgot to get a shotgun and "blow" holes in the lower area of that motherboard tray for the hard drive cables.

Nice computer though.

how about a rotated mother board tray for the SLI/CF builds! Like the Silverstone cases. The cooling is much better...ho t air rises.

Oh cool, so I don't need to finish drafting the email suggestion version of this post then? Or would that still be helpful?

I will say that of the five Antec cases I've used, the LANboy Air has the best cable management, so they have improved. The only real problem with the LANboy's cable management is that too much material was removed, especially in the bottom of the case, so that there was nothing to tuck cables behind, especially the HDD cables.

The Antec 900 still retains the "honor" of the worst cable management case I've ever paid money for though. No offense, but you guys really dropped the ball on that one.

I'd love the lanboy air if it was cheaper and I took the time to cut 120mm holes for all the fans. I'd turn it into a wind machine.

LOL! If they dropped the ball into the case then cable management would've improved dramatically.

The main problem I have with cable management is "doing it"
But I didn't do too bad, for my first attempt with this case

The SSDs at the bottom! They could have gone lower. But I put them there so the bottom fan could get air to my PSU

At the top of the 3.5" bays I have two "Hot Swap 3.5" bays" (red SATA leads) had to use upward elbow SATA connections because of my GTX 480

But as it goes! I think I'll re-do the mess at the bottom after all

+1, But I prefer the CoolerMaster method of mounting hard drives. slap two rails on each side of the HDD and slide it into the case. They have rubber bits around them to stop vibrations too, and most of the cases come with extra rubber o-rings for such a purpose.
