Foxcon socket w/ Lotes retention bracket as of now. They've been doing this since the Lynnfield P55A mobos were released. As of now, I'm not sure if this is going to change & have not heard Gigabyte talk about this.

If your worried about the "socket burn", I wouldn't. There have only been the one case with that one reviewer, that doesn't mean that all foxconn sockets are bad.

The gigabyte UD4 is a great board, and you should be very happy with it.

yea there was only one case of socketburn and he didn't even cause it.

To test out motherboard VRm intel has a specific CPU emulator, which you can adjust amperage and voltage, OEMs (gigabyte) use these devices with a o-scope to do extensive testing, that can cause the socket to burn if they accidentally set it to 300amps, which the CPU would never pull. PLUS this said device doesn't fit like a CPU, so it can cause contact issues.
