will eyefinity work on 3 40" HDTVs? - Page 3

From the top and sides, I cannot get any distortion no matter what angle I view from.

IPS panels are great for people doing graphics work, but you won't notice nearly enough difference in gaming to justify the cost.

I'm glad to hear they're not bad. I believe you - I ran 25.5" Asus TN panels and their horizontal viewability angles were also good.

However, the color shifting in TNs are inevitable - color shifting is not about viewing angles; it's about the shift in shade of color from the top of the monitor compared with the bottom.

Whether something is "worth the cost" is always relative. Personally, I couldn't be more happy with the improved PQ of my 30" IPS. It's gorgeous. And while TNs look fine, few of them look good when you place them next to an IPS. The colors are just really, really off on them. For instance, with the Asus TNs, I couldn't get the colors of a webpage to show up correctly without messing up the correct colors of another webpage. And part of that was the color shifting inherent to TN. Pretty annoying when I had an IPS right next to it showing me how things should look.

hmm.. i really dont know what im going to do now. I would like to do something like this [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNkDX2pcg0U"]Eyefinity[/ame] but i cant find the exact monitors they are using, i would like it to be 3D supportive but i can go without. im having a really hard time trying find something suitable.

If i was to pick a non 3D setup what would be the best monitor to go with, i was looking at at the IPS panels and was considering getting six of these Ultrasharp U3011

lol

That video is titled "Uber 6 screen eyefinity setup"

...

There's only 5 screens.

6 screens like that would be horrible. The center would be divided by a bezel just like in a 2 monitor setup. Only get 5 screens.

Did you ask yourself this after seeing my sig?

For me, immersion is my number 1 factor, and 3x 40 inch TV's really do it!

i'm using 2x DVi to HDMI, and 1x DP to DVI to HDMI tongue.gif

it's actually really good fun, if you got the cash.

Swifty has 3x 46 inch TV's so here is some videos of him testing it!

ok heres the deal. I purchase 3 of the samsung 46" tvs and i bought 6 of the Dell U3O11's

I do have multiple different machines and my 2 main desktops i was going to run eyefinity on eventually anyways. I spoke with the place i ordered from and told them my intentions and was informed that if i was unhappy i could exchange or get get a refund within 30 days.

So whichever setup i like the most is going to be my permanent setup on both of my main machines. No matter what im keeping 3 of the Dell monitors, i have a friend with this monitor and i love it so i will use them on my rendering machine.

everything should be here by Tues-Wed and i will post an update on what the outcome is

Thank you everyone for the help +rep

Trust me, I use a 47 inch at 1080p as a monitor sometimes. I would much prefer one of my 28s.

Actually depending on the viewing distance a 40" would work just as well as a 30" in terms of view. Though if your saying peripheal with a 30" cuz of the need to be closer the peripheal would be more immersive than a 40".. but the importance of that is subject to debate. I've been thinking of getting two 40"-42" possibly a 46" 3d tv's to complement my 46" hdtv i'm using as a monitor right now... I was looking for 30" monitor but price was too high for that size compared to tv.. still can't find a suitable good but cheap tv for this either, not to mention the visa mounts :\.
