TR VenomousX RT vs Mugen 2 rev B?

Hi,

I have a Phenom II 965 BE rev C cooled by a Zalman CNPS10X Quiet and I'd like to replace this with something which is as quiet, yet cools better. The 2 options I've come up with are either:

1) Scythe Mugen 2 rev B, with 2 Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1,450 RPM fans in push/pull config

or

2) Thermalright Venomous X RT (includes a TR FDB 1300 fan and CF2 paste), with a 2nd TR FDB 1300 in push/pull

I was quite set on option 1, which I'd need to import, together with something like AC MX4 compound, extra clips and the GT's. Now I've found some local people who are happily using the Venomous cooler since Thermalright is sold locally (albeit fairly pricey). I'm confused.

I have always had good luck with the Venomous X. In all of the builds I have put it in I was happy with the temps.
If you can get one for the same price or less I would jump on it.

Thanks. The Mugen 2 is fantastic value, although the size is slight concern and I'd have to wait a month to import it.

The confusion mounts, since I've looked at numerous reviews for the VenX, and the TRUE 120 rev C and the Archon and they seem to be fairly close when running with push-pull setups.

I like the fact that the Archon uses 140mm fans, but I'm concerned that it's height combined with 2 large fans may be risky for my motherboard. Also, I'm slightly concerned that it may interfere with my gfx card in the top slot. I'll do some measuring this weekend to verify this.

The TRUE 120 is well respected, but it's unclear whether it can stay within 3degC of the other models and the same applies to the VenX. Of course the Silver Arrow is an awesome cooler, but it's just too huge IMO.

I'm leaning closer to either the Archon (+ another TY-140 fan) or the TRUE 120 (+ 2 TR FDB 1600 fans), with the main criteria being quiet operation and best cooling.

/heads off to compile a collection of tests
