Jumping to SB from AMD need opinions

Thread Starter
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming only

2) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Mobo - CPU - GPU

3) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
NZXT Beta EVO - SeaSonic S12II 520 - G.SKILL NS 4GB - LITE-ON 24X iHAS-324-98 - WD WD5000AAKS - Corsair A70

4) Will you be overclocking?
Depends on my PSU if It can handle it

5) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
Asus MS236H (1920x1080)

6) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Monday

7) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.
I dont need Crossfire/SLI at all.

************************************************** **********

This is what I came up with I dont need Crossfire or SLI tho. If the PSU cant handle the 570 maybe a 6950?

Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD3 LGA 1155 Intel P67
GTX 570

Grand Total: $684.97

Now my question is this. Can my current PSU handle the build above. I will be selling my Current CPU, Mobo, GPU & maybe PSU to lower the cost of the new build.

Its going to be a bit close but seeing as you have a seasonic i think you will be ok with that 520. The system is probably going to be using around 500 (well probably less but under load 500ish). I think you should be fine, although if you want to go sli later you will need a new psu.

i dont think a 520 watt can handle the 570, the minimum for a 570 is 550 watts, i don't know about the 6950

That Seasonic 520W should handle a stock 570. I don't know about how much power it consumes when you overclock it though.

They bloat those "minimum wattages" up a lot.
