Snipers sniping other snipers.

There's a game for that...Ghost warrior or something, its ALL snipers.

Go play that so I can actually go into a pub server and not have 8 of my team mates all recon's sitting in a bush saying hurr durr i'm a snaipurr.

thats why you lose thiru. Because a medic revives me, and i throw him more ammo, and i provide ammo for the recon who isnt sniping, who throws motion mines like candy making it impossible for the enemy to flank or sneak. Not to mention covering each other and keeping each other alive where if you were alone you would have gotten rolled.

Then i tag a vehicle with a tracer dart for my engineer squad mate who destroys it. Notice all that supportive role-ing there.

What exactly does a long sniper do. Spot? wow, he can spot just as good as the rest of the team, but he is not in a position to defend a point, or take a point. Nor make good use of his motion mines.

my bad.

I should say that there is 1 way to be a good "sniper" thats when you snipe from a position that allows you to watch and defend a point at the same time. Staying close enough to a flag or mcom that you can get into range rather quickly to stop the decap or defuse the mcom.

Like panama canal on conquest. You can be a contributing sniper on that map from any of the flag points. You just need to stay near the flags and snipe near them and keep an eye on the minimap and watch for decappers, and if they show up motion mine and put them in the grave. But if you are one of the snipers that sits in the bushes on the side of the map, you arent helping.

One of my favorite moves on that map is to take an armored vehicle from the US base and drive it through all those bushes, you can get a couple road kills driving through the bushes on the retaining wall there. And after you drive through it, you destroyed all the trees and bushes making impossible for a sniper to hide up there for the rest of the round.

ITS A COMPLETELY UNSUPPORTIVE ROLE NOW and just as you pointed out, it's exactly what I said.

So now your sniper is useless because it IS NOT HELPING THE TEAM.

Get what I'm saying now?
Yes it is supportive. If half your team is pinned by a tank, and your mortars kill it, how is that not supportive? If a teammate is having a hard time with a guy, and you pop him and helps your teammate kill him, how is that not supportive? It's the players that make it that way, not the class it's self.

Tank moves out of your mortars.

Congratulations! Your a recon!

Don't fire it at a full health tank? Wait for some ATs to hit it then fire?
