Dual monitor trouble

I run dual monitors with my Gtx 570 (with the purpose of monitoring temps on my second monitor) when starting a game my second monitor goes black. The only way to fix this is to get the game out of full screen (alt + tab) then go back to full screen. Although it doesn't work all the time!

Is their a way or setting that could allow me to not have to do this, i.e to keep both monitors on while gaming?

Main display 1920x1080
2nd display 1680x1050 (shortcuts and temp monitoring)
Latest 266.58 drivers.

I've tried all sorts and it's driving me nuts now!
Just had this msi gtx 570, after a few years of Ati cards, last one was a Xfx hd4870x2. I think this gtx 570 is a cracking card, but i hate to says this i never had any problems with Ati.

Unfortunately not to my knowledge. Both screens need to be the same Resolution for this to work.. When i play a game and i haven't set resolution correctly my second monitor also turns off/Goes black until i change the Resolution on my main monitor.

Perhaps try lowering the res on the main display to 1680x1050 and see if that makes any difference.

I've noticed that some games do this, not all of them. Company of heroes does this to me, yet Grid does not.

Try running your games in windowed but maximized mode, perhaps.
