Twin Turbo Pro on 6870 Review (VR001 Parts) - Page 2

I cut the sinks that came with it. I got a reference diamond 6870 and installed the cooler yesterday and its perfect. Dead quiet at 40% fan speed idle temp is about 30 load about 50...you do not need to order the vr01 kit

I am considering buying the Twin Turbo Pro for my Sapphire 6970. I've done a bit of homework and have come to the conclusion that I need to buy the VR001 heatsink as well; is there any other specific piece of hardware I need to buy or procedure to undergo, or can I just apply TIM as with a CPU cooler?

You wont need to apply any TIM at all it has AC MX-2 applied already.

Do yo have the sapphire like this ?

If it is this one you will not need to purchase another heatsink kit because that sapphire model already has the Voltage mosfets covered for a heatsink.

Also the kit included enough RAM sinks also.

Thanks a bunch Eyelegal.

It's been several months since I had any time to do some computer upgrades, I think I'll do so now.

Looks like the TTP is the perfect solution for this card, and now we know that it doesn't need to be permanent. It's probably well worth the $60 it costs all things considered, since when the 6000s become obsolete, you'll be able to slap the TTP on whatever comes next.

Hopefully you got through that earthquake ok!
