In-Ear Sound Quality

Thread Starter
Hi everyone!

Been thinking of giving myself some quality sound while skating, and would like to hear a word of those who actually understand about it. Would i have to convert my mp3 music (192) to a better bit-rate?

These are the models im eyeing on, if u know anything better with a similar price range, please post!

Monster Jamz RRP 120USD

Monster Lil' Jamz 89USD

Or would the Monster Turbine be best?

cheers!

Right, first off, you can't convert your 192kbps music to any format and get better quality. You could convert it to 320kbps, FLAC, whatever you like, but it would still have the same quality, just take up more space.

So you'll have to acquire or rip your music again in a higher bitrate if you want a better bitrate.

As for the headphones, I've had my Sennheiser CX500s for a couple of years now and have been really impressed with them, not sure what the audiophiles will say though,

If you want a decent program for ripping music, use EAC with the LAME plugin and use 320kbps CBR.

Takes around 20 minutes for an average length disc though, so it's not going to be your best option if you have a ton of stuff to rip. I can give you a link to a walkthrough if you want, takes a bit of setting up for the first time, but once you've done that you only need to hit a couple of of buttons to rip a CD.

The benefits aren't worth the extra time to do EAC rips. EAC is only necessary for .wav, FLAC and ALAC type lossless rips. Just do 192-320 kbps rips for your iPod.
