My 1000 Watt RMS Sony MU-TE-KI REVIEW

Thread Starter
So i just snatched up a Sony MU-TE-KI sound system with TRANCE PRO.
after searching all day yesterday, i absolutely fell in love with this system. it has 1000 Watts rms (1x250w x4) This system is by far one of the loudest i have ever had before. Sound is crystal clear and near to perfect. Everything from music to movies. Also has some pretty sweet lighting on it as well that can be synced to the sound playing. LOADS of features. Comes with a HUGE receiver and 4 speakers (1x8" and a horn tweeter). I played it at 15/30 volume level and set off my car alarm OUTSIDE. Anyone that may have this system or any of the MU-TE-KI systems care to share their experience? My rating is a 9/10 because even though it has amazing features and sound quality, it is very big and bulky

I personally like the old school kind of steros (I can't think of the name i just woke up). I got a 1200W sony back from the early nineties. It was there flag ship model.

I swear the volume on it just keeps going up and up and up. I never maxed it out.

Not to ruin your pants or anything, but Sony's Muteki systems are not high fidelity. 1000W is BS. I heard them before; they don't sound that great. Loudness does not mean great sound quality.

trust me your not ruining my pants, i love the system, and is by far, more than enough for me. and maybe the system you heard was one of the lower end systems. the one i own is 3rd in the muteki systems. i will be upgrading to this system once i get my income tax return in.
and i know what you are probably thinking at this point, "why waist that much money on that system when you can get a better one for the price?" well the answer is simple... i personally like the sound quality of these systems. i have a samsung 7.1 HT system in my living room. this system is mainly used for music and gaming in my computer room. but thanks for your thoughts! cheers

I agree. A lot of these systems are marked with power rating that's beyond sanity. I have a Samsung home theater in a box system that came with a TV when I bought it a while back, it advertises 1000w of power, and the wire that came to hook it up was flimsy 18 gauge wires. Sorry but there is no chance in hell that thing can deliver 1000w before catching on fire.
