I would take that man especially if budget is tight. It will do wayy better than the 5770 and its the latest card so you get more time before its completely outdated. They scale amazingly. Keep in mind open box has not adapters or anything its purely just the card usually so if you need dvi to vga or whatever keep that in mind. I would take that tho

lookie here. the 6870 crushes the 5770. you can look at the different links in the review but if you can at all afford the 6870 do it. If not the 5770 is decent but you wont be running with very high settings I can tell you that.

less you are playing old games such as source games or old cods, etc

http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon...6870-review/17

keep in mind the 68xx card scale almost lineraly while the 5770 doesnt it does very well. so cf of the 6870 makes it even more powerful vs the 5770. you could also get a used 5870 in the ocn market for 200. Thats what I did before xmas for 225

ok so for example if you got a 6870 now you would sell that and take tax money and buy one great gpu? If thats the case just keep what you have now and wait a few months cuz no matter what you do your trashing money like that.

If you do plan to do that get the 6870 as it has a better resale value for when you get your tax money.

ahh well if you can do the hand me down thing and are ok with that I say the 5770 for now then get a 6950 when you get the extra cash and unlock it to a 6870. Best bang for your buck card out there is the 6950 unlocked.

Wrong,

Any question is worth asking.

I ran all games out now on a 1080p screen with my GTS 360m, its not that hard to do.

Check out some 250's and 5770's. Maybe used 260's.
