Intel build temperature worries me

Hi guys, first I must admit I dont have anything to do with overclocking but I need help and this forum seems very good at first look. so here's the pc:

Intel Q6600 non OCed and it has standard intel cooler.
ATI HD4850 Saphire Toxic 512MB
2x2GB Geil CL4 800mhz ddr2
Asus P5QL-SE mobo
WDC Blue WD10EALS 1T (just bought a few days ago)
Cooler master M620 PSU

my problem is with the temperatures..i have the pc for like 1.5year now or so and i read alot of ppls temperature average and mine is way above.
right now im having only firefox open and the temperature measuring programs.
cpu:52 C
vga: 53 C
hdd: 48 C
mobo (asus probe): 45 C

these are pretty high numbers for being idle. now when i start playing (cryengine) these are the temps.
cpu:65-75 C (real temp software)
vga:70-80 C (gpu-z)
hdd: 51 C (hd tune pro)
mobo (asus probe): 50 C

what do you think about these results? are they too high? and about the hdd..I had a WD black 640g but it was very slow after like half year and had 16K badsector, it was running usually around 50-55 C, was that too high?. i decided to buy a new one and this has almost same temperature.. and im afraid the overheating caused the bad sectors and the drastic slowness of the hard. what would you do with this build ?

Thanks alot!

The CPU temps would be alright if we were talking about a Q6600 at 3.6GHz+, but at stock, it really shouldn't be getting that high. Different people say different things, but I'd say you should be looking at keeping it under 70C, way under that for stock clocks.

The GPU is fine.

Not sure about the motherboard.

The HDD is pretty hot. Mine are at 23C and 30C currently, and they rarely rise above 32C.

Judging by the fact that none of your temperatures are that great, I'd say you need to take a look at the cooling in your case. What case do you have? What case fans do you have, how many of them are there, and how are they configured? e.g. rear exhaust, front intake, etc.

Have you tried reseating your heatsink/fan with some AS5? I wouldn't run it at those temps under load. If it's a GO cpu then it can handle 71c but if it's a B3 it can only do 62.2c.

Do you have enough case fans and what not for good air flow?

What is your local temperature? system temps also depend on it. I am from a warm place and idle temp on my quad amd proc is around 36c with a good cooler and around 45 with a stock cooler. Were your temps much lower when you had first bought the pc?
If so, then its probably time for a thermal paste change. Sometimes the cpu fan and heatsink become less effective due to heavy dust accumulation. If thats your case then you should get it out of the case and clean it with a soft paint brush.
Have you recently checked your core voltage, the higher the "auto" value is the hotter the cpu gets, so thats something to look for. If none of these work, then you might have to get a cpu cooler.
Lastly, to answer your question, yep.... that cpu temp is a bit high even compared to our calcutta standards. But the gpu, mobo temps are in sync with mine (then again, i am from a warm place).

When was the last time you cleaned your case out, or even the stock cpu fan? Those get clogged pretty quickly.

this is the case, problem is. it has only 1 cooler inside which is in the bottom front (behind the logo if u watch the picture) but its not going. if i dont use the pc for a real long time and i start it, the led on the cooler starts, the cooler starts but after some time it just turns off and then it doesnt start again.. i saw that cooler working like 5times since i have the pc, and i dont know why. what coolers i should put and where ? if u know any good (smt thats not too loud, dont need huge cooling, its not that good pc)

btw the cpu is Q6600 2.4ghz not 3.6

the pc is not dusty, it was cleaned, im from greece so hot place too but now its winter. in the room is about 25 C i believe. my CPU is idle, 50 C now, 47 C HDD.

yah, take it apart and clean it out really good. The front fan and the cpu fan. I would go get some more fans for the case and reseat your cpu heatsink and fan and make sure it is clean as well.

^ This. If you've had the compture that long and never cleaned it dust is prob the culprit.
