Everyone takes this crap too seriously now and all these elitist so called "hardcore gamers" think they can call themselves hardcore just because all they play 24/7 are shooters on their PS3s and 360s. Even worse are the guys who think they have some authority over gaming just because they've been playing video games since the 1970s.

Be mad at Nintendo all you want but they're making $$$ and pushing the industry forward. If it wasn't for the Wii, we wouldn't have Move or Kinect. Now Nintendo is releasing the 3DS, restoring a rightful place for handheld gaming while others are focusing on gaming on telephones.

This point is arguable.

The Gamecube was graphically superior to the Xbox and PS2. It had an ATi GPU and comparisons between the PS2 and Gamecube versions of RE4 give a huge nod to the Gamecube version.

Most HDTV owners are late adopters, and not every household has an HDTV. Regardless, the Wii didn't need HD to sell more units then 360 and PS3. Only the elitist hardcore gamers I was talking about above think HD graphics are really that important.
HD graphics are and were important.

And I resent Brutz comment that the Gamecube was for kiddie gamers. Resident Evil 1, Zero, 4 and also Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes were epic games, Twin Snakes and the RE1 remake being exclusives. They are, in fact, the only games I ever and still own for the GameCube. Oh and the Ocarina of Tima/Majoras Mask Promo pack.

I agree with everything you said except the Gamce Cube being the most powerful. Im quite confident in saying the Xbox was but the GC wasn't far behind.

Was there a point to your post?

High Defintition = 720p and above. A 7900GT was capable of this.

No, the PS1...It had the first 3D graphics in what the entire industry uses now style standard, the gamecube was great though.

The comparison between my rig running native 1080p, my xbox or PS3 running upscaled 720p and the Wii with component cables on the same 55" Sony Bravia is massive...There's a huge difference and, honestly? There are a lot of HDTV owners, Nintendo just chose to make a console that suited casual gamers more (There aren't many non-casual games that are exclusive on the Wii) and they'd be fine with a NES if it was cheap and had some gimmick or something. (In this case, WiiFit and the Wiimote)

Not for kiddie gamers, but it's definitely a crossing point from the N64 (i.e. Lots of games for kids and adults) to the Wii (i.e. Mostly games for kids, with some for adults), that's what I was trying to say, not that the gamecube was a kiddy console.

The 6800GS I was running at one point was capable of 720p gaming?

its not replay value people are after when they go after achievements, its e-peen, which is pathetic. First thing they do is make an avatar out of it or force it down your throat some other way, like its a huge accomplishment.

I know what you mean, Brutz, just wanted to plug the Cube games I've got =D

N64: Goldeneye, KGJ: Homerun Durby, Mario 64, Paper Mario, Mario Party, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Zelda: Majora's Mask, Konker's Bad Fur Day, South Park, Perfect Dark

GC: Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, Resident Evil 4, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, Zelda: Windwaker, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros Melee, Luigi's Mansion, Eternal Darkness, Ikaruga

I don't own a Wii so I can't name 10 that I've actually played. But there ya go. I could name more for the 64 and GC but you only wanted 10. Go back to playing your cookie-cutter first person shooters kid.
Paper Mario remains one of my favourite games to this day.

720p has less pixels that 1280x1024. Its quite pathetic that such a low resolution is considered "high definition." Its also quite pathetic that neither system for hardcore gamers struggle with such mediocrity.
