I find it sad that you're trying to argue that there is a problem with the console's typical rendering resolution with most of the games out there. It's quite funny because unless you're talking about CoD or maybe Halo 3 whose rendering resolution are low enough to impact image quality - you really don't have any argument at all. In fact, with Halo 3 many would argue that its lower-than-usual rendering resolution is masked pretty well enough to not be used in an argument about it.

I don't think anywhere here disagrees with the fact that higher rendering resolutions are better, but something like 1280x1024 rendering resolution, also combined with the upscaling support that both consoles and the majority of TVs have now, also also combined with the many graphical effects that developers toss in: it isn't that big of a deal at all to sit and argue about it.

AA is a much much bigger problem and easier argument to make.

Other than that I don't see where you're going with this.

EDIT:
Tell a lie, didn't the first XBOX have 576i support?
I remember the Xbox had some kind of higher-than-average resolution support. I do know that the PS2 (with many later games) had a 480p rendering mode which you could turn on by pressing Select when you turned on the system or something which is sad considering that the Wii still only does this. GT4 you could do 1080i if I remember correctly.

god i love nintendo so much...and agree 100 percent with them. The Achievment systems are stupid. yes i can see replay ability blah blah but honestly a game doesnt need achievments for this.....look at the classic games that have been around since the 80's and PEOPLE STILL PLAY THEM WITHOUT THE NEED FOR ACHIEVMENT GARBAGE....
a few classic examples: mario brothers 1,2,3 (althought 2 wasnt the best its still fun) Super Mario Brothers for SNES, pilot wings, the original F-Zero, The zelda games leading up to and including the Wii versions, Final Fantasy series (the original ones from NES,SNES before plystation got them) POKEMON (fight it all you want, but japan pretty much pulls in millions of dollars on this series and the games are great) and the list can go on and on..

a game shouldnt need achievments to increase replay value at all, and if they do just then it just shows the games are aweful even though people defend them in and out like its the end of their life (IE: Halo series, MW2, BLACK OPS...just to name a few)

my post is opinion so im only speaking for myself, so before you angry HALO AND BLACK OPS fans rip me apart, keep that in mind. if you enjoy it thats fine, im just pointing out that 5-10 years from now people probably wont be playing Halo 1,2 or 3 but they will still be playing games like Super Mario Brothers 1 for NES and Zelda: OOT....

if the game was made right, i dont need a "trophy" to tell me that i should have bragging rights and "gamer score".....if its good, ill replay it

nobody dig the dreamcast???? vga out the box and limited free interwebz??? so what that it had no copy protection on its games.....
im a 360 player and i got to say the quality of the vermin..sorry,Players on it have gone downhill expotentially since release,a lot of gob****es that gain huge balls on production of a 360 headset...
as for achievements...well,they do ruin the game if your whoring for them,if thats what your playing for, poor you! But it is satisfying to get a overly hard one....achievements i mean, you fool!

And I'm 29, hardly a kid, and probably been gaming longer than you've been alive. But that's okay.

Next.
If you really think that my first impression is that you obviously have not truly played these games and are just hating on them off an hour of game play. I have never met someone who loves Super Metroid who also doesn't love Metroid prime until now.

To the statement saying that super smash bros are kids games that is where you are wrong. Do you know who plays super smash bros these days. Hardcore gamers in tournaments like ken, rolo, and mew2king. All the little kids are cod 7 and halo. Super smash bros melee is arguably the best fighting game of all time. Easy to learn almost impossible to master.

10 great n64 games

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Perfect Dark, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, GoldenEye 007, Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, Pokemon Stadium

15 best gamecube games ( i made it 15 instead of 10 as I love so many) *Note some of these are not platform exclusives but i believe are best played on game cube.

Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4 , The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, SoulCalibur II, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, Pikmin 2, TimeSplitters 2, Super Monkey Ball 2, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Animal Crossing, SSX Tricky, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, James Bond 007: NightFire

Top 10 wii games

The only achievements I would have are ones that indicated whether you beat the game, and on what difficulty you beat it on. Perhaps for multiplayer just an achievement for xxx number of kills, xxxx number of kills, etc... but nothing stupid like weapon specific, or "WON 500 CTF GAMES." There's no reason to really have achievements, but if they're in I'd like to see them be very generic so you can get them all even if you don't want to waste your time on pointless award markers, playing with modes or with a style that you hate playing, and just focus on actually playing.

Yeah, like mindless zombies earning their "achievements".

Achievements, like Nintendo stated, is a "I-have-nothing-better-to-do" system and a "I-can't-innovate" excuse for devs.

^This.

If you can name 10 games individually on the N64, GC, and Wii each, that were phenomenal, I'll retract what I've said.
