Just one?

Everyone else including the OP didn't use x4.

Why even have tessellation on extreme when almost no games support it? Just so people who play benchmarks on Nvidia cards can feel better than ATI card users?

please, if you want a "my 470 is as good as a 570" thread that badly go start your own. this really isn't a proper place.

Just for the record, unless you have a *really* old/slow one, CPU doesn't affect Heaven scores at the FPS levels people are showing on this thread. i7/i5 won't even start to differentiate itself from Phenom II/Core 2 until you get at least to 70fps on this bench.

Also, it's already established that at equal clocks the 570 is only 4-6% faster than a 470. 570 does it much more quietly though, and it's max OC tends to be a bit higher. It's a great card, but not a logical upgrade for a 470 owner ... that's why I don't have 2 myself

But you're comparing your benchmark with no AA to someone else's running 4xAA and taunting him because his card only narrowly beats yours.

And why benchmark on high settings at all? Most people only have middle range computers and we wouldnt want them to feel inadequate.

Obviously, by taking out AA, he is putting more pressure on his CPU and inflating his score.

To be honest op has none with x4 same as what mine was, and the "comparing it to" part was SLI x16 (x4) vs single in the first place and was a carry over from the 1366 vs 1155 conversation which was meant as a joke.

I've been deciding between a GTX 570 and an HD 6950 unlocked to a 6970. From all the benchmarks I've seen the GTX 570 and HD 6970 perform strikingly similar, and the HD 6970 saves me $50 or so. Note that savings are pretty important to me as I am trying to save enough to fit an SSD into my build. Is the GTX 570 really worth me losing $50 for what translates to more than likely, no noticeable real world performance gain? (For gaming, strictly.)

do you want a quiet card? is cuda or tessellation important for you? are you confident with flashing bios?

i cant give you advices before you give some more details about what you want. but i can tell you i went from 5870 to 570. the improvement is significant and im very happy with my current gpu.

this might help you to make the decision as well.
