Phenom II x555 Unlock??

Thread Starter
I am pretty excited at this point. I had previously tried unloocking a few times and it would never post into bios with 4 vores unlocked but would with 3. With 3 it would crash at windows 7 load up.

Just tried again today with an updated bios and reading the guide on this site. Well not only did I load Windows it was with 4 cores!!! Catch is my CPU-Z doesn't recognize 4 cores...HWMonitor doesn't....did the msconfig...boot...adv options...it only sees 2 cores???

I feel like there is hope for 3 cores at least does anyone have suggestions on next step.

Also on my original attempts i never went aboce 1.375v cpu core and would touch nothing else....this attempt I went to 1.4v cpu core (was scared before because the numbers went from white to yellow at that point) and 1.25 on the nb/cpu. Lastly i downgraded my ram from 1333 to 1067 and my cpu clock from 3.2 to 3.0.....and it posted!!!

try this

start -> right click on computer -> manage
in the left pane, select device manager
in the right pane, click the [+] by processors

if 2 are listed, check bios again, make sure acc/ncc is enabled and 3-4 cores are unlocked

also bring it back to stock speeds, they wont clock as high with 3-4 cores

So i think through extensive testing i have determined my 4th core is completely inactive. Never boots to bios with it enabled in any combination. If I was core 0,1 or 0,2 in a dual core config they both work. If I go 0,1,2 it will boot but crash when windows starts to load. This is with the settings i stated above. I even went vcore up to 1.45 which is the recommended limit. I even downclocked at 1.45 to x14 multi @2.7Ghz with no luck.
Time to start cranking up my dual core!!!!

Screeny questions: I have it set to 1.4v and it shows 1.416...this happens when i set it to anything the mobo will always show about .015v more then my input.

Also the reason my cpu-z sees 4 cores is because in my bios with Core Unlocker enabled and CPU Core Activation set to manual my bios actually shows "6" cores. I'm think its an error because with the last two enabled in any configuration the bios sees it as a core, my cpu-z changes my chip name but the cores are not actually there!!

Edit: That shot of my bios was a last ditch effort to get it to post in windows...even lowered my bus speed with no luck.
One last thing..the desktop shot as you can see changed the chip name to b55 but only shows 2 cores. This is with core 0,1,4,5 enabled (4,5 don't exist) but hardware monitor shows 164w still which is way above my mobos limit....must be an error right??

i got the same board/cpu setup.. try restoring factory clocks and try to then unlock the 4 cores.. i got the 4 cores on mine unlocked this way but i also can only get it to overclock up to 3.6ghz stable.. Could just be your cpu.. not all of them can unlock..

its just an estimate
x2 = ~90w so it guesses x4 = ~180w
mine shows 178.2w
