ATI 4870 Blinks 1,4,5 and doesn't work. - SERIOUS PROBLEM - Page 2

The x1300 is a desktop card as well. A Low End PCI Express one. The computer used to work perfectly before until this standby. I probably much have touched the circuits when I had trouble removing the video card, but based on the codes, it can't be damaged, it looks like the power supply has broken connections.

Ya, my 4870 does the same thing. On startup, 3 of the 4 LEDs flash once and then the system boots normally.

I believe one beep on startup is normal. If you were getting multiple beeps, then you might have an issue.

How many sticks of RAM do you have? If you have more than one, try booting the system with just one (try both/all).

Have you tried clearing the CMOS?

What if I remove the power cables to the card?

Well then you'd have no power going to your GPU and therefore no video output.

When you turn it on, after a few seconds are you able to turn it off by holding the power button? Or do you have the flip the power switch on the back (by the power cable)?

The buttons work fine, and the computer starts up properlly. It just doesn't detect this video card! I mean I know its not the computer because the other video card works. If I remove the power, it does the same thing as when I connect it.

I mean 4 of the connections shouldn't be broken.

Kurt I am sorry for my attitude on this thread, I am just really upset that I lost my good graphics card, because either I accidently touched the circuit board and/or the power supply isn't working. I will post back once I figure something out.
