Gaming mouse?

Thread Starter
Hello,

I recently got into gaming a bit but my dell mouse isn't...well..very responsive although its great for non gaming uses. I am looking for a relatively inexpensive, but also decent mouse. What are the differences between a gaming mouse and a normal mouse? Would a gaming mouse solve my "Response" problem or is it just a normal mouse with more buttons?

You could buy a Razer deathadder, MX518, G500. All of these are very commonly used by gamers around the world.

Buy this:
http://www.directron.com/xl750f.html?gsear=1

I have it, gave it away to my dad because I have a MX518 mouse.

Normally, gaming mice are more comfortable for your hand.

But it also depends how you hold your mouse...
Claw Grip
or
Palm

Claw Gip mice are usually smaller like the old Razer Copperhead

Palm mice are like the MX518 that fit in your palm.

The link I posted is a very decent palm mouse for the price.

And the triple fire button is a nice add on

A gaming grade mouse will help in accuracy, responsiveness, and just overall feel and build quality as well as other things but other can chime in on those. Amongst that I'm big on the looks and the overal comfort of them

I've used a lot of different products, but feel that Razer products are the best on the market for what all they offer.

For me as a gamer? I like looks -- Razer products are the best in looks. They also have great build quality, and are very comfortable to hold and are great for any type of use.

I'd recommend the Razer Deathadder -- It's looks good, great build quality, great performance and relatively cheap for what you get.

Thanks for the suggestions. Not sure but will the pad under the mouse affect it too ?

Yes. That would work hand in hand with the build quality

A good mouse pad helps. I perfer at least a plastic surface (one of the Valve ones or Steelseries 4HD).

For mice? Find out what your hand grip is, if you palm the mouse get a G500 or one of the ones mentioned above.

If you have a claw grip I recommend the Steelseries Xai or G9x, both are good.

So i went out to microcenter and picked up a razer deathadder for about $55 with tax so it was faster and cheaper than newegg Thanks for the suggestions and so far so good. Like the feel and the looks. I also like that the scroll is quiet, as compared to my old mouse which had a horrible KRRRR every time I scrolled. Thanks
