When upgrading to AM3+ & Bulldozer can I keep the rest of the rig?

If I want to upgrade to the upcoming Bulldozer CPU, I'd need the new AM3+ motherboard.

So my question is can I at least keep the rest of my hardware and use it with the Bulldozer CPU? I don't want to buy all the hardware new. Any idea what the Bulldozer and a AM3+ motherboard is going to cost?

Current PC in the signature.

Thanks.

i think they are going to release some chips that are am3. so you might be able to make just a cpu upgrade.

Everything else will work

I prices will depend what you've going for

i guess the 8 core?

then it will be roughly $350

and motherboards will just depend on how high end you want

nothings been confirmed though.

Yes, you can use everything else and if you upgrade to AM3+ mobo first you can use your 1090T until you get a Bulldozer CPU.

Dude, you're guessing and badly at that. Nobody has a *clue* what any of this hardware is going to cost. Might as well pick a number out of a hat as far as being able to predict that.

i don't see much point upgrading from what you allready got...
as far as other things, yes you will be able to use the rest of the rig, except the cpu and mbo
and what is it going to cost
enough that it ain't worth the upgrade

Nawp, that's backwards. AM3+ platform is backwards compatible with AM3 CPU's...so you can keep your 1090t and just get a 9XX series board
