Corsair vs. Antec

Despite their different origins, Corsair and Antec are starting to settle into a pattern of competition that's really interesting to watch. Aside from Corsair's original memory business (RAM and SSDs) their product lineups match up perfectly. PSUs, cases, etc. When Corsair came out with the H50 and H70, Antec responded with their own AIO water cooling system. When Antec released their Rockus speakers, Corsair announced their own audio lineup.

I wonder if Antec vs. Corsair will grow into a rivalry to rival AMD vs. Intel or ATI vs. Nvidia. Though with many more third parties involved, of course.

Thoughts?

It's called competition. Every compnay has some sort of line-up against the competition, else they wouldn't be alive today.

Corsair has some great products and so does Antec. Though I feel Corsair is a little overpriced/overrated for what you get.

i really wish Antec would spend a little more time into the final finish of their power supplies. only reason ive never had one is because of the carelessness of the finishing when compared to Corsair.

Take Antecs top PSU, it looks pretty neat with the red and black casing, but if you look at the cables the sleeving doesnt run all the way to the plug, same with the PSU end, there is a good 4-5cm gap were there is no sleeving.

im probably just being picky but when you spend that much money on a power supply youd expect the best craftsmen-ship right? thats why i like Corsairs PSU's. just has a more tidy, formal look to it.

Their HCG line have taken a leaf out of Corsair's book in that way, they even come in a little bag like Corsair's PSUs do.

I don't really think corsair is overpriced at all, a few products may be a bit high priced but for that you get pure quality.

And talking about price, I'm pretty sure most of antec's cases are really expensive as for what you get?

Look at the 600T. That thing is overpriced. Antec's power supplies are pretty solid and are much cheaper than the equivalent Corsair. I think both companies are solid and like someone already mentioned, any competition is good.

One thing that Antec can do is stop making those awful looking cases- just look at some of their new stuff. Corsair could start making some budget orientated cases too.

Thats good to hear. ive got complaints for Corsair too however. i hate those ribbon modular cables they have, the PCI-E ones at least. they just dont do it for me, having a few sleeved cables and a few ribbon cables. but at least the ribbon cables are black.

Case wise i think Corsair is ahead by a fair bit. i have not been too impressed with the Antec cases ive seen except for the Lanboy case, that seems like a good idea.

But id consider Antec vs Corsair on the same level as ati vs Nvidia. make a post on what psu to get and youd bound to see those two names come up and be fought over.
