I don't know why i bought it.. but i'm not regretting it - Page 3

I don't know a thing about photography, but that looks fantastic.

Why will prices go up on Feb 1?

I've herd you can do like 1/15 with OS and the picture will still be sharp. o_O

Test?

I wish i can compare But i've already sold the 100-400L

On the grand scheme of things, the 200 f/2 replaced a lot of redundant lenses I had. I got rid of the 70-200 f/2.8 IS, the 135 f/2, the 200 f/2.8, and the 300 2.8 IS to get it. So in the end, I only carry the 200 f/2 and a 1.4x TC to cover all four of those lenses.
Oh i see.. But how do you cover 135mm with a 200mm prime?

congratz on the lens.
Thanks man! 70-200/4L IS was one of the sharpest zooms Canon ever made. And this Mark II 2.8 IS tops it. Which is freaking incredible!

Haha, i actually don't "need" this lens.. nor actually anything photographically related anyway since i'm not doing this as a profession (yet). This was a impulse buy

You still have your 135L for that

Prices are going up since the Dollar is getting weaker compared to the Japanese Yen.

I actually did. I tested it last night indoors at 200mm @ 1/8 and it was still pretty sharp. I hold my camera with the McNally grip.. it's not as comfortable but hella stable.

I was out shooting with this lens this afternoon, i'll be posting more samples in a little bit.

the thing with the 135mm is that i always wanted more reach in all situations i've been with it. that's why it got sacrificed for the 200mm

Nikon D700 or above.

But man the pics are beautiful. I have a D90 and the older 70-200 2.8 VR1. Great stuff.

great shots! lol funny thing is when i got the 70-200 f/2.8 IS mk1 a couple years ago, my dealer went, "i know that look in your eyes each time you buy a tele, here's a free ticket to the bronx zoo".

when i get a tele 200+, i ALWAYS hit the zoo.
