PC Build suggestions, 2000$ to 2500$ budget

A friend of mine on another site wants suggestions for a new build.

"The only thing I am set on is case and CPU cooler:

Corsair Obsidian Series 800D CC800DW Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811139001

And Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835608018

And I would like all my stuff from NewEgg.

Price 2000 to 2500"

He has a video card, and above he has picked out the case + CPU cooler. They are both part of the 2500$ budget. He needs a PSU, hard drives (plenty of storage space), decent sized SSD (not huge, for OS/programs), memory, DVD burner + blu-ray burner, win 7 64 bit, motherboard, and CPU.

I would make a build myself but I am currently too lazy to do so, and others here enjoy looking up parts. Thanks all.

please try to convince him not to get an 800D! it is not the greatest air cooler and your GPUs will not be happy. Get a nice LianLi, they are more expensive, but worth it! Ill let others help you out with the other parts that you want help with. I just wanted to give my 2 cents about the case

Well as a friend, you should help him from making a huge mistake with that case. Get a haf x, and save the cash. I guess he wants it because he wants to sip the coolaid and pretend to a mac person.

Besides that, you never bothered to tell us what he is going to use it for?

How in the world are we going to build you a system if we don't have a clue what he is going to use it for? What is the long term goal? Are you/he going to upgrade, or is it a one time build?

Why would it be a mistake, some people just dont like the looks of an industrial HARDCORE gaming case..

I myself would pick a nice obsidian 800D and some good fans to make sure the airflow is optimal (cause indeed its not such a big airflow case)
