Pc Restarting before switching on

Thread Starter
I noticed a strange problem with my sig rig for the last 2 days, & I'm kind of worried about this issue.

So when I push the on button, the tower switches on, (mother board led's, fans...) but switches off again after about 2 seconds. Without pressing anything, the pc retries to start but switches off by its own again after 2 seconds. This happened to be for about 8 times in a row. After that, the pc starts and runs successfully.

What could be the issue?

sounds like a gigabyte motherboard failing an overclock.

This is 99% of the time due to the motherboard, especially if overclocking. A PSU issue very, very rarely causes this.

Is your MB going into sleep mode...??? I was unable to get my machine out of sleep mode until I enabled the double click mouse option in the bios and before pressing the power button it would just turn off then restart.

Ive had the same problem with my asus p5b deluxe since day one. It only happens at stock speeds though. Turn on, powers off and restarts. Then i have to turn the psu off and on and it works perfectly. But says "bad overclock"

Was fine at 3.4GHz though.

either or ram or motherboard. I've experienced both.
