Yea sorry, I just started and put a random team. Had to find a good home, and I ended up here. Proud to fold for this team
Ok, to begin with, a WU stands for a "Work Unit". It's the Project that Stanford sends out, and it's what you actually Fold. Each WU has it's own Project number, RCG number (Run, Clone, Gen, though these are only important to remember if something is going wrong), credit value (the points the WU gives), bonus factor (for SMP WU, each WU gives bonus points depending on how fast you complete it) and deadline.
PPD stands for "Points Per Day". It's the unit of measurement in the Folding world. I suppose the definition would be something along the lines of this:
"If you were to Fold at your current rate for an entire week uninterrupted, your PPD would be your average points each day."
However, things can change. Different WUs perform differently, so PPD can change that way. SMP WU bonus points shift as the number of idle cycles the CPU has to offer changes (relevant if you also game/browse the internet on your Folding computer), and other factors too. GPUs generally complete WUs in hours, and CPUs complete them in days, so while the PPD might seem similar, there's more variance with the GPUs, since you might get a good WU, then a relatively bad WU.
However, you'll come to learn all this as you continue Folding. No need to worry too much about all that. If you've got any questions, just ask, and we'll let you know if there's anything wrong with your PPD, or anything that you can do to improve it.
