Rate my new amd rig $600-650 budget - Page 2

Actually, for the cpu/mobo I think I'm gonna go with a 555be dual core. The only "new" game I plan on playing is cod and I don't think it uses 4 cores. Most of the games I'll be playing will not be highly demanding(tf2, l4d, cs, quake, cod, HoN, sc2). Quad would be more future proof but by then I would probably upgrade to a bulldozer perhaps

It saves me a lot of needed money to buy other things

Oh and badwrench, nice find on the siberias. Mine just broke a few weeks ago, might pick that up

Here's what I got so far from doing some research:

Headphones - hd201 - 17.99

Asus sata dvd/cd burner - 16.99

Mobo - asrock 870 extreme 3 - $89.99

GPU - OPEN BOX asus gtx460 768mb - $119 + 7.87

RAM - Ripjaws 2x2gb - 49.99

CPU - AMD Phenom 955 BE - 149.99

CASE + PSU (Combo) - 179.98
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.585973

Comes out to 637.91 with shipping and tax. Can anyone improvise on this? Preferably cheaper or same price. I really don't wanna push it any more expensive than what it is. I wanna have some extra spare change for a mouse and/or heatsink
everything except case, PSU, and video card is the exact thing i plan on building.

4+1 power phase
Do not want!
The going price however for the 955 + Gigabyte's 870 board is actually $1 less than the 955 with that ASRock board; the Gigabyte would be a much better board choice.

Everything else looks great

yet the x 955 is a better choice http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103846 with a good mobo u can unlock it with ez, its always better to get a cheaper chip with a better motherboard
i would go with this mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131363

has good coolling and will unlock your 2x 555be
