i7-930 Overclocking Black Screening

Thread Starter
Hey everyone, I was told to post this by my friend who was helping me overclock. I've been trying to Overclock my i7-930 Bloomfield. I have an ASROCK X58 mobo with what I'm assuming are the latest updates.

I tried to set up a 3.6ghz OC and then when I reboot, my computer black screens and won't even post. Then after about 5-10 reboots/hard resets my mobo sets all the BIOS settings to default and then I can boot again. I've followed multiple guides and I always get the same thing. Can anyone with experience with my mobo help me out here?

Also, I'm assuming this is a bad idle temp? Any thoughts on how to fix that?

your temps are normal. i7's are fairly hot.

Try turning off Turbo and Speed Step before overclocking.
