Corsair ObsidiGreen 700D - Page 11

Hey great looking build. Love the floor the most, however where the dual rad is i don't think i could give up that space for hardrives.

Anyways i wanted to ask what is that covering the tooless drive bay releases? Shiny piece of black metal?

Thanks

Plexi-glass painted black on the inside, makes the other side shinny

That is tight, good stuff man now enjoy some good gaming with that.

My only criticism would be your rez/pump, i have 2 of those ****ty units and i can't stand how loud they are. I wish they were made 3/8" more narrow so you could mount them in your drive bays using foam and not bolting to you chassis which makes them all that more loud. However they are very useful, just a shame they are not more narrow.

Nice work man you made me think of stripping the white paint off my fans and getting green tubing for a new theme.

The unit does ok and if I had the money I would upgrade it in a heart beat... although I don't know what you mean about it being loud... I can not hear it and my total system is like 30db like super quiet. I can not even tell the pump is on.

Thanks for the comments, keep watching, I have some huge updates coming soon for her.

Sounds good man.

When i bolted the rez/pumps to my case they would vibrate a lot and make a ton of noise, then i took them out and ran them on my table on a towel and they were super quiet. When i had a dual loop the very restrictive loop made the pump very loud, while on the short loop it ran pretty quiet but louder than my fans. Just all in all very disappointed so after a bout 5 months i bought the MCP655 with an EK top, been running that for about 3 weeks on speed setting 3 on one massive and pretty restrictive loop - dead quiet. Only downside... this thing is huge and i couldn't put it where i wanted it.

Hum think it might be loud when bolted to the case? Then again the pump is very quiet... I was thinking of maybe getting 2 and go back to a dual loop setup with some of these bay/rez combos for the D5.

It does look slick...

But some of these i'd also consider:

To match the front of the Corsair brush metal finish.

For the dual loop.

Okay maybe not this one...

The Danger Den one is capable of doing a double loop

I like that, I do understand that it goes into the same res in the end but still should help with temps.

I noticed that my cpu on just a 240 rad gave me 2-3 degrees lower temps than my current setup which is 360 rad + 240 rad + Dual 5970's + mobo + cpu (not in that order) on one loop.

In any case i'm saving up some cash and buying a GTX580 this thursday hopefully, and might have just found a buyer for my dual 5970's. Hoping that when i run dual GTX580's in sli i'll get slightly better temps... and less driver issues, lol.
