no not really just a cut out piece of plexiglass with holes drilled into it to glue in LEDs, the LEDs are mounted inside the holes cutout for the rad and facing toward the rear

The plexiglass is also mounted to the case the same way the stock center floor was mounted, on both ends and to the HDD cage

Thanks

So if I understood that correctly ...

you drilled holes into the plexiglass, but not all the way through the plexiglass? How many LEDs did it take to get that great looking lighting effect?

It is 1/4" plexiglass, so the holes are in the 1/4" part, and the LEDs are mounted inside of the fan holes on the 1/4" part (edge)
Holes are only deep enough for a 3mm LED to fit into.
just 2 LEDs, they are really bright

If it would help I could try to get some pictures, but with the front cover it would be a little hard to do now without taking off the back door.

No they are Xigmatek fans (great fans too)... I am getting a few CM R4s w/ green LEDs (120mm) but they don't make R4s in 140mm

I can not find a good green LED fan that is 140mm so my plan is ordering green LEDs and making the xigmatek fans green

ah no worries, dont need to go through all that trouble to get a picture then. I think I get it now

Have you looked at the Xigmatek 140mm Crystal Series? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835233055
I've got one in this build:

You can see it in the back there. It's very green. Yeah, it's not like...super high RPM or anything but it does move quite a lot of air - more than 60cfm I can assure you. Guess Xigmatek underrates its fans

Also, here's a great source of VERY green, VERY bright, VERY inexpensive LEDs: I think Joe makes 3mm LEDs as well. The green, white, and I believe the red ones as well, are all 25,000 mcd, which is extremely bright. They're 3.3v so to run them on 12v you'll need a 470ohm 1/4 or 1/8watt resistor - 1 per LED. Note: higher wattage resistors are larger in size thus able to dissipate more heat without burning/melting something.

Hope this helps!

I bought 30 LEDs today from a local shop to transform my Xigmatek fans to green LED.
Will post pix when I finish.

I don't like the clear fans, or I would have just bought them with the green LEDs to begin with.
