2600k, tuniq 120 xtreme cooler.. 30*+ jump @ load. - Page 2

Yea, those temps actually don't seem high at all for an i7. I doubt that the BSOD's you got were because of temperatures.

Also, AS5 has a 200hr cure time before you see optimal temperatures. You'll see better temperatures the longer you keep it on there. As long as you got a firm mount, I'd say it's fine.

i like the H50, i havent yet been able to see its performance in person because my board died. its performance seems to be on par with the high end coolers in all the reviews ive seen done on it. plus its cleaner looking than large heatsinks

give your AS5 time to set up, the i7s just create a lot of heat.

Really, your Tuniq Tower Extreme should be fine. The H50 won't be much of a difference.

IMHO, complete waste of money.

I've had both the Zalman Performa and the Coolermaster V6GT on my 2600K.

Both were able to get my 2600K to 4.8GHz at ~70C on prime95 small FTT load. Normal load never gets beyond 60C on any core.

During my OC testing, down around 4.5G to 4.6G, I never broke 60C on a core.

I'm 100% sure you have a bad mount. It's impossible the Tuniq Tower Extreme is getting those temps on stock.

is it possible there is an issue with the chip? as in the internal chip components not transferring heat to the chip case?

thinking I may have the lemon batch....

This thing is seeing temps 80* plus under auto tune with AI suite..
