OC the crap out of your 920, and instead buy an SSD like C300...

Velociraptor? Why are they even made still, lol. Loud, hot, and not much faster than a much cheaper and larger hard drive.
HDDs are for storage, not your OS. And you really don't need a 10k or even 7.2k rpm drive for storage.

memory: if you're going to use 1333, might as well get some thats low latency and runs on std 1.5v like these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231308. I would rather go for DDR3-1600, but it's a bit more expensive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233144

Mobo is fine if you never plan on SLI/CFX

Save some money and just get the cool master hyper 212 plus. $30 cooler that gets the job done.

Not a bad VC choice for the price.
Thanks! I'll keep all this in mind but the case part. I'm the kind of guy that wants to to look nice and be fast too, so i kinda want a window
and ill probably get the 1333 ram u posted

For the price/performance and also capacity, the velociraptor is better for me than a ssd.

No, the i7-920 has 4 cores and 8 threads (when hyper threading is turned on).

OP: what model dell do you currently have? Is there perhaps a bios update to fully support your i7-920 and it's 4 cores?

SSDs win no questions asked when it comes to price/performance.

The capacity value is poor but the SSD is only for OS and a few apps.
SSD as boot drive + 5k/7k rpm in raid for storage and large games > anything involving 10k rpm drives tbh.

You'd know what I mean if you tried an SSD. I used to use 10k rpm drives and will never go back. Ever.
