Don't forget you also need pass through caps or end caps to go with them, depending on where they will be on the cable.
very nice! i would feel much safer with a bit of solder though. with my experience snap together things tend to fall apart. i will definately be trying this though!

This is for SATA power cables only, not the SATA data cables. you can only do 1 drive per cable.

my bad, i didn't look close enough and saw it as a data cable. i remember when we used to use ide cables, they could have several leads on one cable for data.

still intrigues me

Well, you could always sleeve 2-3 SATA data cables together. Just cut little slots for the cable ends to come out at different spots (and even heat shrink them).

Hmm, that would be an interesting project. Surely somebody has done it before?

Edit: Something like THIS:

except extending the sleeving all the way up to the last cable and just cutting a little slot for each of the plugs to come out.

if nobody has done it than we must! hm. that would mean there would have to be several plugs leading from the board to the cable, then going to the drives. if somebody made this, it would look very slick

pffft, I'd rather pay for the $14.95. Thanks for the link bro.

Wasn't this thread originally about the SATA power cables? How did it get turned into one about SATA data cables?

Well, the OP rocker22dallas mentioned problems with data of several drives on 1 cable, and I said you can't have that, it is only 1 data cable per SATA drive, and then mentioned sleeving multiple SATA data cables together.

@blupupher, I meant sata power cables.

my mistake, it was rocker22dallas that mentioned SATA data cables, not you.
