Are you running dual monitors? if so the clocks are increased. I idle at 53c.

I am. I ended up downloading MSI Afterburner, and setting up the Fan options. I set the fan at 40% and it dropped my idle down to 43C. I'm only going to use the settings during gameplay.

Ouch. Scary temps, grab an aftermarket GPU cooler like I did.

Actually, your temps are fine but your fan must be pretty loud.

It gets a little loud when it creeps past 40%. I usually game with headsets on and music so sound isnt an issue.

Part of the problem I think, is the Card is mounted so the fan is blowing the air down, and at the bottom of the case is a 120mm fan blowing cold air up. I think once I get a 120mm blowing air across the card and get something to exhuast the air out it will go down more.

I've oc'ed my Sapphire 6950(flashed to 6970 bios) to 925/1415 and in Kombustor got max mem temp at about 71c. Fan speed was at 70% which was fairly loud, but I set my profile for that. Core temp was around 68c as well.

I could probably OC it a bit higher, but I just don't feel confident in doing it unless I decide to get an aftermarket cooler, especially for vram.
