I am not sure if higher frequency RAM really helps with todays apps/games????
Only reason I see for the 1600 is if you end up using the fsb to oc, with the 1600 you have that much more room to play safely than the 1333 thats all. And I'm a Mushkin faboi so I had to throw it out there, and there's no doubt in my mind these won't hit 8s across the board as well

Look at my budget build and see if that gives you any ideas. It was under $750.

PSU 89.99$ (-30$ MIR)
Video Card (-15$ MIR)
Case 39.99$(-15$ MIR)5 fans lol
HDD 49.99$

total 500$ after mail in rebates
u can go a bit cheaper on the GPU if u go for 5770 it will run all the games u listed on max settings

NIIIIICE!!!!!!

Another Athlon sugestion!!! I'll think about it BUT my Phenom 555 is the same price (fewer cores but higher clock - who needs 4 cores anyways??). I can't buy the latest stuff but hesitate to go "2" (you know what I mean) generations back.

The RAM is a STEAL (anybody looking for RAM this is it) good catch:
Ram 61.99$ (-25$ MIR + usb flash)

Another STEAL: PSU 89.99$ (-30$ MIR)
Is this gonna be enough juice for CrossFire set up???

Video card and HDD are the ones I listed so thatnks for confirmation!

The case is OK. Note that the fan controller is for the top fan ONLY and the fans are questionable quality.

Uh...
for $46 you can get RAM that performs at 1600 8-8-8.
Which performs worlds better. Because at 1600 9-9-9, you need 1333 7-7-7 to equal just that.

All 1333 8-8-8 RAM sells at unfair prices IMO.

But... the Diablotek Evo that tator tot suggested looks good too. Personal preference, but I like a clean look more than plastic and flash. Also, opening front panels feel cheap to me.

Other than that, just get better ram - 1600 : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820104203 $40 after $10 mir.

ASrock looks good, go for it.

Good luck
Interesting case suggestion but for $90 I would have to do some more research.....

NOW ABOUT THE RAM:
the RAM you suggested - seems to be easy to overclock so maybe.
My general question is why should I buy higher frequency RAM when I keep reading that there are no significant benefits (1-2% maybe)????? Someone shed some RAM light please.

Anyway, the 5770 is a good card for those games, as just stated, and a pile of cash cheaper. But check your monitor resolution as the 5770 is not great a max high res. settings. I think AMD are about to revamp it's 6 series line-up so it may be worth a wait.
$700 LOL That is OK not worth

Uhhhhh 5770 - that was my favorite a month ago. Remember, I have to build this to last. Can't be buying another card in 10 months. My concern is if I go with 5770 when the next best game comes out (Black Ops 4 I will not be able to play it with the high settings.
You are right though, if money is short this is an alternative!!!

GPU bang for the buck. Get this card:

The review speaks for itself:
http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/364...ked/index.html
My experience has been almost exactly the same, except I updated the bios and got the fan-profiles worked out so that the card runs cool and almost silent.

Highly recommended.

Also recommended you go with the PhenomII 555 BE - overclocking will be a breeze, unlocking cores is very likely and the L3 cache makes more of a difference the higher you OC your NB. That said you mentioned Civ as a game u like - Civ 5 CHEWS up cores, and will see performance benefits going to hex cores for quad core. The 555BE will likely unlock, and is easy to replace anyways, so I recommend getting that and changing later if you want to.

The Antec 300 Illusion is good value in a combo when the price is low, but the lack of cable management and slightly small size means that multiple HDD's will interfere with crossfire setups eventually. Cooling is great, the fans are fairly quiet, and the quality is great - but there are draw backs. I wish I'd bought the NZXT Tempest Evo to start with, and wish I'd stretched my budget for something better still now. But sacrifices must be made ...
GOLD GOLD PURE GOLD - Agreed.
With all the money I already saved on RAM and PSU I might have money for NZXT Tempest EVO.....

Thanks for the input I definitely do not want the "small" case that will interfere with CrossFire set up.

I guess now I need to make the choice between video card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125348
OR case NZXT Tempes Evo

NZXT is calling my name.........
