Why is Razer Black Widow so cheap?

Thread Starter
Why is Razer Black Widow so cheap? I'm talking about the regular one, not the ultimate edition. They're about $80 dollars with additional features while other mechanical keyboard brands like Das and Filco are like $130. Are they lower quality? What makes them so much cheaper than other companies?

The ability to press all the keys on your keyboard at the same time and still have the computer register every single keypress.

Blackwidow has at worse 2key rollover IIRC.

I've heard they don't have any problems with WASD combinations though, but still - extremely cheap

Here is a Razer Black Widow on eBay and has a Make an Offer option. Shipping is expensive, but you can negotiate the price and hope you win it cheap.

The ability for the user to hit the keyboard with their head and have the computer register every key, a bizzare and pointless feature. I've got a black widow and there's simply no need for it.

you can push up to 6 keys on the blackwidow i cant imagine why you would need to push more than one though.... i would look at this http://shop.steelseries.com/us/index.php/steelseries-6gv2.html as its the same price $80 with promo code EG01EX

for gaming 1 had on the mouse and 1 on the keyboard...

unless you have 7 fingers on your left hand, recognizing 6 key strokes at a time is plenty for me smile.gif

Razer keyboards are just junk. They really do not perfom all that well, and there are a lot better choices out there. That is why you will find them so cheap. The mice are great, but the boards... suck. I know I owned one of them, and the key issue is a real problem in real world useage... It will lock up the board if you type too fast or if you press too many keys at once.
