question about my old XFX HD 5750 core clock

What's my core clock?

I ask because according to newegg (and every other site I look at) it's 700 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-448-_-Product), but according to CPU-Z on my system, it's 399 Mhz (http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1610428).

Where is the discrepancy?

Thank you,

400MHz is probably what your GPU is downclocking to when its not under 3D load. When you start a game or 3D application it should return to normal.

Start something that will work your gpu like a gpu stess test or something and then look at the clocks. It might just be going into some power save mode.

Thanks.. that's exactly what it was.

I started up GPUTool/TechPowrUp and... 30 minutes in under "Find Max" (which I assume looks at your max clock) it gets way in to 1000+ Mhz. While it was going I started up CPUZ and it reported 699 Mhz as the clock... so, yeah it appears to be some power saving issue.

Thanks
