Look over here, there are a couple guides and lots of conversation about DOs and DONTs.
http://www.overclock.net/nvidia-driv...king-software/

I spent 5 or 6 days googling, using the search function, and reading various forums before I started messing with my clocks. There is a ton of info out there and what works for one person may not work for another. I say educate your self or leave it alone. The more you know the less chance of messing some thing up and if some thing does mess up you'll also know how to fix it.

Nice overclock. I was flippin' at first seeing a core of 975 until I saw the voltages. I would like to push my 460 some more but flashing the BIOS is when things start to get risky. It's not like I need the extra juice either. 875 core at 1.087v destroys everything on 1680x1050.

I have the same card.. Sure you need that much voltage? I'm at 1.050 and running 920/1840/2150 easily.

I've done my fair share of stability testing in the past and this was the best I could get out of it. 820/2000 on stock voltage of .975v. I had to lower the memory clock to get 875 stable. It seems I'm always the slacker when it comes to overclocking my hardware. I blame my 4 year old AM2 motherboard. lol

I dont know what max voltage is for the card, my current bios tops out at 1.212v After burner is set low so you dont cook any thing by mistake. Again at max voltage max load for 20 min I am still below 70C. Tops for this card is 104 from what I understand (do your own research)

Current stable voltage is 1.175 and has been stable all day, try a little lower tomorrow and see how it goes.

As for some people getting good clock and some not, I'm sure alot plays into it. Ambient temps, humidity, whether the card was made on a friday or not. No two computers are the same.
