Got a Moto Cliq 2 And I want to Overclock it...

Thread Starter
Been an android user for some time now, but this is my first attempt at overclocking one. I've been lurking around the XDA site and have found no one with this phone. Is there either:

A. An app I can download and mess with CPU clocks/voltages

B. A Kernel that will work with 2.2

C. Something else I haven't thought of?

Sorry for being a phone noob, but thanks!

you can't control voltages manually. your phone is too new. i don't know if it has a locked bootloader or not. that said, i don't figure it'll ever get a decent following because every Cliq ever made has sucked.

I loved my Cliq 1 until the 2.1 update. Was to much for it. Is there a place I can find out this information?

You're alone. No offense, but the Cliq series have been garbage.

You can't do anything with it (even if the bootloader is unlocked) unless somebody develops for it. Which i doubt will happen.

My best advice is get return the Cliq 2 and get a G2 or MyTouch4G. Motorola is crap and locked down. No one will probably dev for it and if they do it will be slow going. The G2 and Mytouch4G have the best dev support going for it right now.

screw G2 and MT4G. G2 got locked down too, just easier to work around. If i had T-Mobile i'd get a Nexus with no hesitation.

Actually there are plenty of ROMs available for the original Motorola Cliq. I'm running a Cyanogen Mod 2.2 ROM on my Cliq and it runs just fine. Check out ModMyMobile.com for some cool ROM's for all sorts of phones. Someone is even developing a 2.3 ROM for the Cliq XD

Yes, but with the Cliq 2 the bootloader is locked down. You can't load cyanogen on that or the d2 droidx and any of their current lineup.

The Nexus S or the Nexus 1? The Nexus 1 is a year old, while still a decent phone it had its time. And the Nexus S, Samsung is a horrid company and are already coming out with a phone better than that.

I have the MT4G and the thing is a beast. Yeah it was "locked down" but no were near as bad as Motorola phones. With my MT4G I'm rocking 2.3 with it OC'd to 1.5.

Interesting. I had always thought that no matter what the device was, you could always flash the ROM. Guess I am mistaken. Not a big deal though. I'm sure I'm the only person on the planet that LOVES Motoblur.
