I'm about to pull the trigger on the HD2, so a few last questions :

1. Does it run android smoothly with GPS and WiFi working?
2. Any other phones you want to suggest in the same price range (used phone~$250)
3. How much would be a fair price for a used HD2?

GPS and WiFi is working on my Gingerbread build.
I'm an HD2 die hard, so it's a phone I would recommend to anybody.

In terms of performance, the HD2 squashes the OG droid. The HD2 is fitted with 512mb of RAM and a 1Ghz Snapdragon, while the Droid has an OMAP processor clocked at around 600Mhz and with 256mb of RAM. The 4.3" screen feels big at first, but you get used to it. It's pretty thin, so that also makes it a good contendor.

I tried out Windows Phone 7 and IMO, it's all hype. The marketplace is seriously lacking. In order to get the marketplace to work, you need to do a couple of registry edits and phone Microsoft for an activation code, which is risky because WP7 is not supported by m$. It also lacks copy and paste, and multitasking, which is one of the best features of a smartphone, IMHO. I can't browse the web and listen to my last.fm channel at the same time.

I'd pay around $200, depending on quality of the device and the accessories included. Make sure that the 16GB memory card is in the device when you bu y it! Enjoy your new phone!
