Intel 990x

Thread Starter
From what I've been researching over the web, apparently these were intended to be released at CES a few weeks ago.

Does anyone have an updates on whether or not these will be out soon? I'm looking for one to start my build.

My guess is that they would wait until they introduce their new platform to replace 1366.

There are already 995X as well, floating around.

Mainly they are supposed to be released during 2011Q1, so there is time.

Wonder if theres anything changed a part from the clock speed

Benchers who tested them say that the IMC is better, so it can handle higher uncore with less volts.

Usually you can do 4200 uncore at 1.52v or so, which is pretty high.
On the 99?x you can do almost 5000 uncore at the same volts.

Regarding the 995x, I still haven't seen an official 990x released. Does anyone know if they actually WILL release a 990x? I've seen some research on the 995x as well but very slim. I don't see the point in Intel releasing a 995x a couple months after the 990x with Ivy Bridge coming out later this year.

Will there really be a 995x release? Will the 990x ever meet consumers? Ahhhhh..

Ya! 4000MHz stock, with turbo 4200MHz.

Intel could probably do it too.
