i had the same problem with space, i got the s963. my phenom idles high (37-40) but under prime95 and linx load only gets to 51 tops at 3.5ghz stock vcore (i'm still testing my temps to see how far i get). i got best temps using the thermal paste spread method
Im probably going to get the s963, its quite cheaper than water cooling (£15) and its as wide/long as the stock cooler, so it shouldn't touch my RAM, or the side of my case for that matter.

Thanks for the suggestions guys

i'd say it's a good cooler for the size. i wish i had the room to get a hyper212+, but the 963 does a decent job. if you plan to oc, it should be fine as long as you don't push the vcore too much.
